Our History
Rigton Insurance Services Ltd are a firm of Insurance Brokers and Independent Financial Advisers, established over 30 years ago in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. In 1986 the business was purchased by our current owners and we remain privately owned and wholly independent to this day.
With a strong client base consisting of Commercial clients such as Manufacturers, Contractors, Wholesalers, Retailers and Fleet Operators as well as a Personal Portfolio, we have sought to develop the business to encompass further niche areas of expertise, particularly in the transport industry.
In 2007 we were proud to achieve the much coverted 'gold' status of Chartered Insurance Brokers and there remain only 60 brokers to have attained this premier status.
That year we moved to much larger premises at Chevin House, a spacious suite of offices in the heart of Guiseley that gave us a commanding position and presence in the Yorkshire market.
In 2010 the firm is now well over ten times the size it was in 1986 with a strong local client base, and because of our exclusive schemes and proactive attitude, clients throughout all parts of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland as well as into Europe.
Our business is built on professional and high service standards creating close partnerships with our clients which are fast becoming unique in a quick, sales driven market.
We are authorised and regulated by the FSA (Financial Services Authority) for General Insurances, Mortgages and also Investment business.

This is the industry’s gold standard for firms of insurance brokers. It confirms that we have satisfied rigorous qualification criteria in terms of retaining highly-qualified staff who subscribe to the membership conditions of the CII.
