Insurance is a demanding profession and we require career focused, dynamic, broad thinking individuals that can demonstrate initiative, drive, determination and professionalism in a very competitive market-place.
Insurance Broking responsibilites typically involve:
- gathering information from clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile
- building and maintaining ongoing relationships
- foreseeing clients insurance needs
- arranging specialised types of insurance cover in complex cases, this may involve preparing reports for insurance underwriters and surveyors and negotiating with insurers
- advising clients on risk management and helping to devise new ways to mitigate risk
- renewing and amending existing policies
- marketing and acquiring new clients through meetings and presentations
- developing rapport with underwriters, surveyors, photographers, structural engineers and other professionals
- administrative tasks such as dealing with paperwork, correspondence, keeping detailed records, and updating databases
- overseeing marketing strategy
- promoting new insurance products and developing new initiatives
You must be hardworking, have a desire to learn, be driven, enthusiastic and personable but importantly have a 'can-do' attitiude. We look for committed team players that have the ability to work alone and prioritise and manage a workload. You must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Rigton provide on-going training and have in house packages, however employees are encouraged to apply for the relevant professional qualification progressing ultimately toward Chartered Broker status.
